Tissue Crio-Ablation System
- Cryo-ablation and clinical indications
- ProSenseTM system, manufactured by IceCure Medical Ltd., is a III generation technology device for cryo-ablation of benign and malignant cancer lesions. ProSenseTM system works with Liquid Nitrogen.
The process of freezing intra and extra-cellular liquids induces the volumetric destruction of cells membrane. This process is not a necrotic process but rather apoptosis-like event.The most common clinical indications for the ProSenseTM cryo-ablation are:- Bone metastases;
- Renal cancer;
- Breast cancer: benign and malignant.
ProSenseTM cryo-system allows intra-operative or percutaneous procedures. - ProSense generator
- ProSenseTM device is composed by:
- A wheeled console, allowing to manage the cryo-ablation procedure;
- A handle connecting the device to the Cryo-probe. A flexible hose connect the handle to the console, allowing an easy approach to the target area;
- Console has a touchscreen PC, providing with all information regarding the device status, treatment options and parameters during the procedure;
- The ProSenseTM device operates with Liquid Nitrogen (N2 liquid: -196°C | 70 Kelvin) by means of 2 separated dewars to be placed inside the console.
- The ProSense Cryo-probe
- The Cryo-probe is a single patient device; it could be used up to 3 procedures cycles.
The distal part of the probe has variable length. This section of the probe delivers the freezing and it allows to generate elliptical or spherical ablation volumes, according to the lesion shape.
A separate, optional Temperature Sensor is available; could be placed in the surrounding tissues in order to monitor the delicate structure close by the Cryo-probe. This Temperature Sensor avoids to damage other vital structure during the freezing procedure. - Main Features

- ProSenseTM operates with Liquid Nitrogen only;
- No need of other gases;
- Atmosferic pressure Liquid Nitrogen use have no limitation concerning pressurized gas management safety rules;
- Maximum ablation area: 4.5 cm;
- Single probe application;
- ProSenseTM allows to monitor the temperature of surrounding tissues by means a specific, separate Temperature Sensor;
- Liquid Nitrogen is easy to find, manage and available in every hospital.
